by John Dunn (Author)
John Dunn never expected that his summer job as a caddie at the local course in Connecticut might turn into something more. The lifers who plied the loops were an ensemble of misfits and degenerates who made the caddie yard look more like a gambling hall than a country club. But Dunn came of age in those yards and on those courses, and the magnetism of the game and the lifestyle proved irresistible. One adventure after another kept him coming back summer after summer, until he found himself migrating with the seasons, looping at some of the most exquisite and exclusive golf locations in the world. Dunn crisscrossed the country on his own big loop, working inside the privet hedges while camping on the mountains, following the back roads and stumbling across unexpected moments of profound natural beauty, and embracing the freedom of what he calls the last vagabond existence in America, all while trying to decide whether to quit the loop and get a real job. Maybe next season...
Author Biography
JOHN DUNN is a writer whose work has appeared in a number of magazines, including The Golfer and Travel + Leisure Golf. For twenty years he worked as a caddy at golf courses around the world. His research for this book was collected over the years on courses and beaches and in bars all across the country and abroad.
by John Feinstein (Author)
After winning 6 of the 12 Majors from 2000 to 2002, Tiger Woods struggled in 2003. Four unknown golf players--Mike Weir, Jim Furyk, Ben Curtis, and Shaun Micheel--would seize the day, rising to become champions in his wake.
Mike Weir--considered a good golfer but not a great one--triumphed in The Masters, becoming the first Canadian to win a Major. Jim Furyk emerged victorious in the U.S. Open. In the British Open, Ben Curtis became the only player since Francis Ouimet in 1913 to prevail on his first time out, and Shaun Micheel came from nowhere to prevail at the PGA Championship. How does one moment of glory affect the unsung underdog for years to follow?
In Moment of Glory, John Feinstein returns to the unlikely year of 2003 and chronicles the personal and professional struggles of these four players. With great affection for the underdog and extraordinary access to the players, he then looked to the 2008 season, giving readers an insider's look into how winning (and losing) major championships changes players' lives.

This is a book about a young teen who was not allowed to play team sports, such as baseball and basketball, for medical reasons. So he started playing golf with his parents and then at a local 9 hole muni-course with green fees of 25 cents if he teed off before 10:00 am. In his early twenties he joined Chippewa Country Club, a nice 18 hole course. There, he had an experience that led him to believe he always wanted golf to be a part of his life. The Chippewa Experience never left him. Not a long hitter, so after he retired he began a program working with wedges that would compare favorably with the training of professionals. He made many close friends along the way. Unfortunately many passed away. One in particular was particularly painful. Discouraged and somewhat alone when playing he never forgot the Chippewa Experience as golf continued to be central to his thinking. Over the years the family trips to such places as Hilton Head, Destin, and Siesta Key provided wonderful family times and new courses to play. He and his lifelong friend, John, continued to enjoy golf together and pulled off some miracle wins in tournaments along the way. But at some point Father Time caught up with him but did not diminish his love of the game even if limited to the driving range and putting green. He loved it all.

The first thing to remember about this program, it is not just a book, but a complete course in mind training. To take this course, the person must have an open mind and a huge desire for success. Without desire to be the best you can be in the game of golf, this course is not for you. This course teaches the basic principles over and over with exercises in every chapter. This is not only a course, but a players diary of their goals, practice techniques, on course mental goals during competition. Every player that completes this course will automatically cut 8 to 10 strokes off their game. It is a must you follow each chapter and the exercises for success. This course will repeat until each player understands. The course teaches a player who they really are, controls anger, develops honesty, trust, and confidence. Why spend thousand of dollars on equipment and lessons before we train the mind first? We are teaching backwards the principles of true golf. Yes, there are a lot of great golfers coming up, but each one is understanding the mental side first, starting with Tiger Woods at a very early age. The competition is greater, courses are longer, and thousands of young golfers coming on the seen. Why wait, this is the first and only mental training complete course. Remember, this is not just a book! Time to take charge of your game now. Consider the price of a golf lesson? This course is much more valuable at the same price. You will not be dissappointed.

Words of advice from lifetimes spent on the fairways of the world - you might even improve your game.
Whether you're a weekend warrior zig-zagging your way across the course or Jack Nicklaus leading the gallery down the 18th fairway at Augusta, golf is a game of wit and wisdom as much as wedges and woods.
From the game's earliest beginnings at St Andrew's in the 15th century to the modern masters of The Masters to the page, the screen and even the White House, golf has been a source of inspiration, motivation, life lessons and laughter for people of all ages.
'It's a marriage. If I had to choose between my wife and my putter... well, I'd miss her.' Gary Player.
'I can tell right away if a guy is a winner or a loser just by the way he conducts himself on the course.' Donald Trump.
by Zachary Michael Jack (Author)
It was "scary," Jack Nicklaus said of Pebble Beach, and gave him nightmares so acute he famously woke his wife on the eve of his 1972 U.S. Open victory totally spooked. "It's not a golf course," sportswriter Jim Murray wrote, "it's a hellship." Golf writer Dan Jenkins once joked that the famed venue of the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am should be dubbed "Double Bogey-by-the-Sea."
A one-time failed Division One golf walk-on, Zachary Michael Jack opts to stare down an early midlife crisis by chronicling a U.S. Open year spent at Pebble Beach, object of his ailing father's fantasies and site of the nation's number one public course and its fairy-tale host town, Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. There, along the blue Pacific, he traces the colorful, capricious, and comical world of golf on the Monterey Peninsula as never before via interviews with legends of the game Johnny Miller, Gary Player, and Tom Watson; with today's brightest stars--Padraig Harrington, Phil Mickelson, and Bubba Watson; and with some of its most famous celebrity linksters--actor Bill Murray, Olympic soccer star Brandi Chastain, and billionaire entrepreneur Charles Schwab.
Conducting more than one hundred interviews, Jack ranges far and wide to get the scoop, talking golfing haunts with bestselling golf novelist Michael Murphy; teeing up with members of a Carmel-based worldwide golfing society devoted to mystical play; learning to play Pebble at the knee of one of the Top 50 Golf Teachers in America and with a Carmel-based journeyman pro described as "a golf savant"; and raising a cup with a lifelong Pebble Beach resident and caddy who, unbeknownst to the hackers he shepherds, is a Hall of Fame golfer. By turns hilarious, haunting, and historic, Let There Be Pebble reveals the utter uniqueness--the people, the rich history, the unforgettable setting and sporting culture--of this one-of-a-kind golfing cathedral.

by Gillian Ednie (As Told to), Twite Brian (As Told by)
With forewords from Gary Player and Mike Clayton, the inspirational life story of Brian Twite OAM, Just Magnificent - Lessons from a Life in Golf, reveals Brian's 'getting of wisdom' and his timeless fundamentals of golf and life.
The book is about Brian's love of golf and the wisdom he has accumulated over his early years as a teaching professional in the United Kingdom, and his last 60-plus years at The Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne.
Brian's teaching lineage goes right back to Jack Lovelock at Kings Lynn, Harold Atkinson at Abbeyfield, and the famous Arthur Lees at Sunningdale Golf Club before he was recruited by a group of Metropolitan members to come to Australia in 1955. Brian outlines the classic principles and art of teaching he learnt in his youth which he has refined over time and still teaches today.
While Brian is a renowned storyteller, this is the first time he has told the stories of his inner game - how he grew up, became an exceptional golfer, a devoted club professional and a gifted teacher. In the process, Brian reveals what has inspired him, what makes him tick, and what keeps him teaching today. By further sharing his lessons and his golfing fundamentals, Brian hopes he can help even more golfers be the best that they can be.
With the help of biographer Gillian Ednie, who started her lessons with Brian as a teenager, stories about Brian's impact from family, friends, and pupils to famous golfers, such as Gary Player, have also been included.
Originally intended as a gift for his 90th birthday, the project began with a just few audio recordings of Brian's personal life to be shared with his family. However, as his bigger life story unfolded the project developed a momentum of its own. It soon became apparent that many important stories and his legacy, as a teacher and an elder in the golf club, had not been recorded and were in danger of being lost. Just Magnificent - Lessons from a Life in Golf can now be shared with his much-loved family, friends and wider golfing community.

It all started in Spokane, WA in 1985, at a fund raising dinner-auction to raise money for a junior hockey team. An ex-hockey player won the right to use the team bus for a three day weekend during that upcoming summer. He and seven of his former teammates soon got together and set off on a golfing excursion to the great state of Montana. Little did the group know that this group would soon grow to twenty-four participants in future years, would become an annual trip that would continue for thirty plus years, and would become known as the "Montana Golf Trip." These are the stories that have been generated by the group of twenty-four, mostly ex-hockey players, as they made their annual sojourns into Montana and other golf meccas of the Northwest.
Golf is only an incidental part of these Montana Golf Trips. The primary goal is to have fun, lots of fun, and as you will see, when twenty-four guys get together for three day weekends out of town and out of state, some crazy things are sure to happen. This book chronicles some of the funniest, craziest, and unbelievable stories from those trips. Some of these stories occurred after the golf matches had ended for the day, and the social hours had started, but all are somehow related to the sport of golf. Golf is a fantastic game and is the sport of choice for millions across the globe. But for many, including this "Montana Golf Trip" group, the real fun begins when the golf matches end and the social hours start. The stories and events in this book are not just funny, many are "gut-splitting hilarious". Like the story that describes the guy who unknowingly drank the colonoscopy juice just before a big golf match and the "fun" he had making it through 18 holes. Or the guy that had his car "stolen" because he fudged on his handicap. Or the guy that "peed" his pants, or did he? Or the guy that got hit over the head with a seven iron and took ten stitches to close the wound. These are just a small sample of the unbelievable stories found in this book. And every story or event is true and golf related. Your belly will be sore, your eyes will be watering, and your head will be shaking in disbelief when you are done with this book. It is truly a funny golf book.. So buckle your seat belt and cancel your appointments, because once you start reading, you won't be able to put this book down.by S. a. Cunningham (Author)

There has never been a book about the inner workings of the golf business or its leading players from an insider's point of view. In the Rough reads like a novel, but it could also be required reading in a business school. This book takes the reader on a ride through the author's unusual professional career and what he discovered in the most revealing settings and scenes of the golf industry at its awkward and colorful best. Most of the events and incidents appearing here are firsthand accounts portraying a host of famous and colorful characters in both golf and the business world.

Golf may be one of the world's most popular sports, but it is certainly not a quick one, and finding extra time for gym workouts can be a real challenge. Isometric Exercises for Golf offers a brilliantly simple solution that fits seamlessly into the game you already love.
By performing a series of easy 7-second isometric exercises, you can turn every round of golf or practice session into a powerful strength workout. Complete just one exercise at each hole, and by the end of an 18-hole round, you will have finished a highly effective total-body training session-without setting foot in a gym.
Your golf club itself becomes a perfect Improvised Isometric Exercise Device (IIED), meaning your personal, go-anywhere multi-gym is already in your hands. Clear, easy-to-follow illustrations with directional arrows show exactly how and where to apply force, making the exercises simple to learn and safe to perform. Golf professionals and coaches will also find this an invaluable resource for integrating strength work directly into lessons and practice routines.
The book is thoughtfully divided into two practical sections. Part One focuses on individual isometric exercises that can be performed on the course, outdoors, or at home. Part Two introduces a range of partnered exercises, ideal for training with a golf buddy and adding variety and motivation to your sessions.
While many of the movements are similar to those found in the Nordic Walking and Trekking Pole books, Isometric Exercises for Golf - Book One also includes specialised exercises specifically designed to increase the power of your golf swing.
Smart, time-efficient, and perfectly tailored to the sport, this book allows you to improve strength, stability, and swing power-one hole at a time.
An interesting and crucial footnote is that the National Health Service (NHS) Innovation Team in Greater Manchester, England, has successfully trialled and deployed the Workout at Work system for employees. The authors, Brian Sterling-Vete and Helen Renée Wuorio, worked closely with the NHS Research and Innovation Team to create a practical and effective system suitable for virtually anyone in any job.by Bob Sheppard (Author)

You are only as good as your swing. Practice makes perfect. Frustrated golfer syndrome. Golf can be an emotional rollercoaster - lying awake at 3AM wondering the woulda, coulda, shoulda of the day's game.
Golfers who hit a bad shot feel helpless. We had an intention but failed to execute it. The mental picture we had of our swing and its glorious outcome shatters at impact. We don't really know what happened. But because it's mysterious, we can't correct it and we can't be sure it won't happen again.
The extreme example of this is the dreaded shank-a rogue hit off the hosel of the club that squirts away from the golfer dead right. It's embarrassing. The problem is that once you shank, you begin to imagine that another shank is hovering, right there, just waiting - til the very right moment to appear - and mortify you, in front of your friends. A dear colleague of mine has had nightmares about hitting a shank for years.
To add salt to the wound, the feeling of sheer frustration isn't limited to extreme mishits like the shank- it is also there when our mind picture turns into the exact opposite when we hit the ball. Then the next week, we think, what exactly happened. where was I standing, what did I do? All of the woulda, coulda, shoulda thoughts and self observations may be correct but by the time we go out to the course again, we have forgotten the minute details. The fact then remains that we usually don't know why we hit a bad shot that afternoon.
You may have one of those handy little putting machines - you putt like a fiend in your home office (or maybe in your office at work). Monday is the worst day of the week for you as the weekend's game haunts you throughout the day, in meetings too - which is a nightmare in itself.
You've bought the best clubs. Your putter - well let's just say you had it delivered to the office so your spouse wouldn't see the price tag (yes, I know you well). Golf balls? Dozens of boxes of em sit in your desk drawer. The 3 piece urethane that matches the Tour standard golf ball in every way. The 2 piece urethane slightly harder ball suitable for the intermediate player. Then there are the 3 piece soft-ionomer color ball that blow your mind with the performance and eye catching look. You own them all.
The fact is my friend, all the cool golf stuff in the world won't help until you help you - it really is simple - drill down and see the who, what, where in the game.
This performance stats workbook, it isn't really pretty. It is designed to help you evaluate what you did - right, wrong and outstanding. It definitely isn't for the weak of heart either. It is a robust workbook - we added some graphics to try to soften the blow, but this is a workbook to seriously evaluate yourself and your golf game.
This isn't a mamby-pamby hold your hand workbook. Made 8 x 10 is size, it is made for you to sit down and seriously lay out the day's game facts. It won't fit in your pocket, it is hefty - 200+ pages. No fluff. No sunshine & rainbows content - instead you'll be filling in details of yardage, tournaments, taking a cold hard look at your game and seeing what you did wrong & what you did right. Excellent tool for the golfer who wants to look back and evaluate his or her improvement.
Loera Publishing LLC was founded by Diana Loera, a Midwest farmer's daughter. She's had the privilege of buying advertising for some of the top golf products & instructional systems in the world. She hopes you find this performance stats workbook to be a valuable tool in improving your game.

Long before there were Tiger Woods, television, and tournaments with million-dollar purses, Bobby Jones was the most recognized and revered golfer in the world. Memories of Jones continue to burn brightly, as does his indomitable legacy and influence. Nearly thirty years after his death, Jones remains president-in-perpetuity of the Augusta National Golf Club, which he co-founded, the host venue of the annual Masters Golf Tournament. Jones's record stands as a landmark in golf history. By the time he retired from competitive golf in 1930 at the age of twenty-eight, he had won four U.S. Opens, three British Opens, and five U.S. Amateur titles -- all without ever earning a dime for any of his triumphs. Jones's status as the greatest amateur golfer ever was clinched in 1930 when he won the U.S. Open, British Open, U.S. Masters, and British Amateur. That made him the only golfer ever to win all four Grand Slam events in one calendar year. In I REMEMBER BOBBY JONES, dozens of his fellow golfers, journalists, golf industry leaders, friends, relatives, and followers of the game share their favorite memories of him. The portrait is of a man and champion who embodied sportsmanship and brought the words classic and golf together in one phrase.

Here are a few excerpts: WOW! A lot has changed in the past 20 years. When I first published this book in February, 1991, I didn't have a web address or a cell phone. Home computers were just starting to gain popularity and I hadn't quite turned 30 yet. ... Surprisingly, one thing that hasn't changed are the 10 Secrets for Golfing Success. They are still just as valid today as they were when I originally wrote about them 20 years ago. ... I Found the Golf God, 10 Secrets for Golfing Success was the first book I ever wrote, so it will always be very special to me. Based on the letters and comments I've received through the years, it's been a special book to dozens of other people, as well - both golfers and non-golfers alike. I've received letters from golf professionals giving the book credit for their first big tournament wins. I've received phone calls from men and women in all walks of life telling stories of how the book changed their lives (not just their golf games). I've even had several non-golfers get "mad" that it was a golf book and not a life improvement book, saying they almost hadn't read it because of that. One of the most magical moments for me was receiving a handwritten note from tennis legend, Martina Navratilova, stating how the concept of "target golf" had helped her golf game. Another was when international self-help author and success coach, Anthony Robbins, happened to come into a bookstore where I was doing a book signing, and asked me to autograph a copy of I Found the Golf God to his friend, Ken Blanchard (author of The One Minute Manager), as a birthday gift. ... I Found the Golf God sold nearly 10,000 copies in its first year, going to print three times in the first nine months. It's been used as a sales training tool, as a textbook for golf colleges, as a tournament gift bag item, and more. GOLFERS AND NON-GOLFERS ALIKE LOVE I Found the Golf God! With years and years of rave reviews from men and women golfers of all levels, this timeless golf and life improvement book is sure to help you improve your golf swing and your game!

Author Biography
Born In Edinburgh, Scotland, and educated at the University there, like all British boys of his generation Tommy Armour left school to fight in the First World War.
He joined the Royal Scots as a machine gunner and later became an officer in the then new branch of the service, the Tanks Corps. While serving with the tanks he was caught in a mustard gas attack and lost his eyesight, but later he regained sight in his right eye. The winner of many amateur golf events in Europe as well as the French Open, Armour came to the United States soon after the war ended and turned professional in 1925. In 1927 he won the U.S. Open Championship and the Canadian Open. Subsequently he went on to win every major championship: the British Open; the P.G.A.; the Western; the Metropolitan; and too many cash-prize tournaments to attempt to list. In 1929 he took over the post of golf professional at the Boca Raton Club, in Florida, where over the next quarter of a century his instruction ranged prom teaching duffers how to break 100 to brushing up the games of the top tournament professionals when they couldn't iron out their own difficulties. Armour always claimed that the instructional part of his golf career was the best -- the part he enjoyed the most.Clear Information Before You Order
