Educated at California State University at Long Beach where she played field hockey for the college. A resident of Santa Monica, she's had multiple careers--though none as a detective--and fewer relationships than her protagonist. Worries about who will take care of her parrots when she dies.

Cristina Tzintzún: Cristina Tzintzún is Director of Workers Defense Project, and co-founder of the Austin Immigrant Rights Coalition. Tzintzún contributed chapters to Colonize This! and Yes Means, Yes!. She also covers immigration rights issues for the daily newspapers Ahora Si! and El Norte.
Omar Angel: Omar Angel is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. Angel holds a Law Degree from the University of Veracruz, and for the last five years has been working in the US with the Workers Defense Project, the Immigrant Worker Centers Collaborative in Boston, and Workplace Project in Long Island.
Carlos Pérez de Alejo: Carlos Pérez de Alejo works with Third Coast Workers for Cooperation, a cooperative development center. AND REMEMBER THAT I AM A MAN is the story of a man who fights his enslavement with dignity rather than stoicism, with reason instead of violence, and with trust in God rather than skepticism toward man. Based upon the NARRATIVE OF THE LIFE OF MOSES GRANDY, published in 1843, it chronicles the life of a man who struggled for freedom in the Great Dismal Swamp region of North Carolina during the early nineteenth century. The title is a Frederick Douglass quote: "Sometimes I forget the color of my skin and remember that I am a man. Sometimes I forget that I am hated of man and remember that I am loved of God." In the late 1700's, the child Moses, playmate of the master's son, sees his mother tied to a peach tree and whipped. As a young man, he suffers under a series of cruel masters, which forges his character and his faith in God. In adulthood, his wife and children are sold away and he is twice tricked out of money he has earned to buy his freedom. His travails, which uncannily parallel those of the Biblical Moses, are a shining example of what can be accomplished through faith and perseverance.

Award-winning writer John Bushore has had dozens of stories and poems published in magazines and anthologies. He is also the author of Friends in Dark Places, The Prisoners of Gender, Wolfwraith, and Necessary Evil. Two of his stories are included in a textbook anthology for an international studies course in Gothic and Horror literature. He writes for children as "MonkeyJohn," author of What's Under the Bed and The SpaceMonkeyAdventures He lives on the edge of the Great Dismal swamp and enjoys researching the history of the area.

Snow, of The Gospel of Matthew: A Commentary in the Wesleyan Tradition (2019) and coeditor, with Andrew Brower Latz, of Purity: Essays in Bible and Theology (2014).



Glen O'Brien is research coordinator at Eva Burrows College, within the University of Divinity, Melbourne, Australia. The bomb will kill thousands of delegates and give President Todd the authority to suspend the Constitution and push through a series of right wing policies that will guarantee his re-election and give him the power to destroy his Democratic rival for the presidency. Dance is also trying to be reunited with his estranged wife who becomes a target along with their daughter from hit men hired by McIntyre to eliminate the nosy investigator and his family. In a dramatic climax, Dance tracks the Japanese terrorist, Shigenobu, and his bomb from Tokyo to L.A., Reno, Nevada and finally to New York. The dirty bomb is set to go off during President Todd's speech. PROFILE: A successful Communications Consultant, journalist, novelist and biographer with expertise and proven skills in various print styles ranging from news and feature writing (AP, Newsweek and Life magazines) to ghostwriting, media relations, marketing, opinion articles, and copy writing for companies and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Stokes is a journalist, novelist, playwright, poet and memoirist, who covered the Vietnam War, (1966-1968), and the Chicago 7 trial of radicals charged with riots at the 1968 Democratic convention for Newsweek Magazine, as well as the Attica Prison Riot for Life Magazine. Mr. Stokes is the author of "Walking Wounded," a novel of the Vietnam War published by Dell. He also wrote the stage drama "A Place Called Heartbreak" that appeared off-Broadway in the l980s about American prisoners of war in Hanoi and their struggle with allegiance to duty, honor, country in an unpopular war. He is a co-author of the memoir, "Odyssey of an Eavesdropper: My Life in Electronic Countermeasures and My Battle Against the FBI," with Martin L. Kaiser III, published in 2006 by Carroll & Graf Publishers, New York. Mr. Stokes recently published his first collection of poetry, "Light From a Different Angle." The poetry brings the reader a panoply of startling and poignant visions ranging from war, foreign and domestic - Vietnam, Attica, 9/ll and the déjà vu of Iraq - to the conundrums of love, suicide, death and the dread of aging, dementia and things left unsaid. Mary is also a published poet and fiction writer, and currently teaches English at Emory University. Brian Birdnow earned his Ph.D. in American History from St. Louis University in 2000. His book, The St. Louis Five: The Smith Act, Communism and the Federal Courts in Missouri 1952-1958, was published by the Edwin Mellen Press in 2005. His most recent book, Gerald Ford: The All-American President (Nova Science Foundation), was published in 2011. Author Biography

Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson is an extraordinary -- powerful, multi-talented and enterprising personality who hails from rural east Alabama, and whose passions are as diverse as the east is from the west... As a long-time business owner-operator, radio personality, former educator in the public and private sector, civil rights leader/activist and past elected board-member of her school district, she has utilized all of her gifts and talents to serve as a vocal advocate for African American progress and empowerment in her own and surrounding neighborhoods and continues to exercise that vigor about the things that matter most, by letting her voice be heard. She was born in Roanoke, Alabama the ONLY child of two of the greatest people on earth -- the late Wilkie and Hattie Lee Peters Clark. At the core of who she is, lies many painful events she experienced growing up during the desegregation era of the late 1960s and 1970s coupled with the influence of her audacious parents, who were fully engaged in helping shape that era. She grew up in her native "East Roanoke" community, where she attended the predominantly black Randolph County Training School, and later on, the City of Roanoke's Handley High School, graduating with the class of 1971. She earned both a Bachelors and Master Of Education Degrees in Special Education from Auburn University. At Auburn, she pledged Delta Sigma Theta National Service Sorority, as one of the first 9 Deltas to be initiated there, thus she had a hand in establishing the first black women's sorority on Auburn's campus, (Kappa Upsilon Chapter), in 1974. Charlotte taught public and private school for several years in the neighboring state of Georgia. On the local level, she translated her background in education into 18 consecutive years of service as an elected member of Randolph County's Board of Education. In 2005, she published her first book -- her father's biography -- entitled "Chief Cook and Bottle-Washer", The Unconquerable Soul of Wilkie Clark. She considered this book, her biographical tribute to a strong African American father. There were two factors driving her objective in publishing this work: one was a promise made to her mother before her death; the other, her own deep respect for the far-reaching impact her father had on the African-American people in their local community. Understanding that history would not regard him accordingly, she decided to write her own documentary of his contributions.
