by Kevin E. Simpson (Author)
In the heart of the twentieth century, the game of soccer was becoming firmly established as the sport of the masses across Europe, even as war was engulfing the continent. Intimately woven into the war was the genocide perpetrated by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, genocide on a scale never seen before. For those victims ensnared by the Nazi regime, soccer became a means of survival and a source of inspiration even when surrounded by profound suffering and death.
In Soccer under the Swastika: Stories of Survival and Resistance during the Holocaust, Kevin E. Simpson reveals the surprisingly powerful role soccer played during World War II. From the earliest days of the Nazi dictatorship, as concentration camps were built to hold so-called enemies, captives competed behind the walls and fences of the Nazi terror state. Simpson uncovers this little-known piece of history, rescuing from obscurity many poignant survivor testimonies, old accounts of wartime players, and the diaries of survivors and perpetrators. In victim accounts and rare photographs--many published for the first time in this book--hidden stories of soccer in almost every Nazi concentration camp appear. To these prisoners, soccer was a glimmer of joy amid unrelenting hunger and torture, a show of resistance against the most heinous regime the world had ever seen. With the increasing loss of firsthand memories of these events, Soccer under the Swastika reminds us of the importance in telling these compelling stories. And as modern day soccer struggles to combat racism in the terraces around the world, the endurance of the human spirit embodied through these personal accounts offers insight and inspiration for those committed to breaking down prejudices in the sport today. Thoughtfully written and meticulously researched, this book will fascinate and enlighten readers of all generations.Author Biography

A player who couldn't score. A bleak soccer future as a bench-warmer. An athlete who lacked confidence in his game. Are you or a loved one enjoying soccer, but can't stand not being confident on what to do with the ball? Do you have a problem getting shots and making them go in? Are you a player that would love to dribble several opponents at once but struggle even beating one? If any of these situations describe you, you are not alone. Coaches of soccer are good at having the team work together. Sadly, your abilities as an individual are often lost in the team's tactics unless you are the star player on the team. The coach lets the best player do as they please but every other player must do their job. This is great when you are the favorite player, but more often than not you are just existing on the field and not really contributing to your team in the way you want to. This 3-in-1 bundled book is the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th books of the Understand Soccer series. Therefore, you get the following three books for the price of two:1. Soccer Shooting & Finishing: A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Score

- Discover the two things to take any okay soccer player and make them great overnight. Why does learning these things matter?
Well, building your knowledge grows your confidence. Self-esteem is key for any soccer player and building the belief in your child will allow them to play to the level you know they can play. You may think those are all well and great, but "how can a book really deliver on increasing the abilities of yourself, son, daughter, or team?" Excitingly, this bundled book lays out step-by-step what you should work on and the most important keys to being able to perform on the field. Yes, other author's will fill up their pages with tips for various situations, but never really say which things to know are the most important and will make the biggest difference in your game. 5 Soccer Training Books in 1
List Price is significantly discounted from combined book prices
Book 1: Practice Soccer at Home
Whether it's a pandemic caused by an extremely infectious pathogen or a harsh winter that causes 10 feet of snow to pile up on the soccer field, there are times when soccer takes a back foot. As we have discovered, soccer isn't more important than life or death, despite the claims to the contrary.
So many coaching books require complex equipment, copious resources and fantastic facilities. In writing 'Practice Soccer at Home', we are seeking to offer a guide for those times when we train alone, in our back yard, with little more than a ball and our immediate environment. Undertaking this additional work is important whether we are professionals seeking to perfect our technique at the highest level (why else would top professionals build home gyms into their luxurious houses?) or, more relevantly for this book, keen amateurs or youth players looking to develop our own game.
With jobs to hold down, school to attend and such like, it is unlikely that, in the best of times, we will get more than two formal training sessions per week, plus a match at the weekend. Realistically, it is likely to be just one session. In order to maximise our potential, we must do some work on our skills and endurance alone. The most practical place for many of us is to undertake this training at home. Why get in the car to drive to the gym or park if we have a back yard we could use instead? The answer is, of course, what to do in the back yard, and what to do it with! This book provides some answers to those questions.
Book 2: Soccer Mastery
Soccer is a game of habits. It s as simple as 1+1. The right habits create players who win. And the wrong habits get punished once your opponent intercepts the careless pass you continue to make over and over again. This book is about building the right soccer habits to win.
Book 3: Basic Soccer Drills for Kids
150 basic soccer drills and skills to take your kids' soccer game to the next level.
Book 4: Soccer Dribbling Drills
Do you struggle against good defensive teams? Is strength, pace and fitness not enough?
You need more dribbling skill, and this book has enough information to take you and your team to the next level..
Book 5: Soccer Defensive Drills
A 100 soccer defense skills and drills to seal up those holes in your defense.
This is a deal that you cannot miss.

If you are NOT interested in being a better player, coach, or parent of a soccer player, please consider another book. This is NOT for you. With game-proven methods to score more against any team, this is your manual for soccer success! How teams play is unpredictable... or is it? Through countless hours of practice, training, and experience, soccer's elite have shown consistent patterns of in-game skills that, when applied, will lead to predictable outcomes - more goals, more assists, and more wins! Learn the keys to being a better soccer player through knowledge. In other words, there are warm-ups, instructional drills, and workouts to sharpen your skills that take advantage of the human anatomy, an unshakable mindset, and proper form in soccer. In Soccer Training, you have well over 100 tips from scoring to defending, fitness to nutrition, and on-the-field tactics to boosters for your free time. Each is explained to answer the question, "How can I use these steps to prepare for and use during every game that I play?" Learn what coaches do not teach, not because they don't care, but because they just don't know. Often, coaches only emphasize the team's abilities, while giving little to no time and minimal volume to the skills of each individual. It is just as essential to develop the players within the system as it is to strengthen the squad itself. This book is a high-level overview of the areas that can take a player from being a bench-warmer to MVP. In a day and age where many so-called experts' advice is to improve your conditioning, get more touches, try harder, and you need to want it more, this book stands out on delivering the steps to turn any player into a top performer. Who this book is for:- The defender who does not know which direction to push an attacker or how to position their body correctly.
- The midfielder who does not get enough assists and is not considered to be the team's playmaker.
- The striker/forward who does not score at least 2 goals a game.
- The soccer player who needs a confidence boost that comes from game-ready knowledge.
- The parent who loves their child, but hates to see them struggle with a lack of confidence on what to do.
- The coach who focuses on team drills, but knows that their squad can go farther if their shooting power, passing form, and foot skills improved through correct methods and increased IQ. Outcomes of applying the facts in this book:
- Understand how to beat a defender every time.
- Know which skills to avoid.
- Condition your mindset to become one of a winner.
- Remove the toxic habits you need to break. This book gives every player the ability to know that (1) your team will win (2) you will lead them to victory and (3) you have the knowledge to perform! Hey, I'm Dylan Joseph. I am a soccer player that was frustrated with the coaches that I had that were not teaching me the techniques I knew I needed to develop into the star player that I had dreamed of becoming. I had coach after coach that made me only a little bit better. This statement is not to talk poorly about soccer coaches; it is just to point out that most coaches teach everything they know. However, nearly all of what they know is how to make the team play better together, but often forget (or don't know) how to train each player on the team individually. After years and years of experimentation and a mentor showing me the right path, I finally learned many of the skills for the individual soccer player. Excitingly, I was able to transform seemingly overnight from a defensive center midfielder who only scored a couple of goals a season to a striker who normally gets two points per game. My dream had come true to be the most confident player on the pitch and the person others asked to be on their team.by Ace McCloud (Author)

It started with a question, "What are the fundamentals of soccer?"
Whilst there are hundreds of books that look into the specific principles of coaches like Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, and Marcelo Bielsa, there is no core, distilled text on the key principles of the game.
Until now.
Join best-selling author and coach - Peter Prickett - as he puts soccer under the microscope and breaks it down into its constituent parts. By addressing the two primary phases - in-possession and out-of-possession - the book examines the five attacking and five defending principles, plus the transitions between each phase, to reveal the underlying heart of the beautiful game.
These principles have underpinned coach education for decades and largely been unchallenged. When examining them, other deeper values emerge to support the one true principle - to score.
Designed for coaches and soccer fans interested in the theory of soccer, this handbook - filled with more than 90 illustrations and diagrams - is a must-read for anyone looking to understand the foundations that soccer is built on.

If you are NOT interested in scoring more goals or teaching others how to get the ball in the net, this book is NOT for you. With game-proven methods to get more goals against any team, this is your manual for scoring success! How defenses think and react during a game is not easily understood... or is it? Through countless hours of practice, training, and experience, soccer's elite have shown consistent patterns of in-game skills that when applied, will lead to predictable outcomes - more goals, more assists, and more wins! The current soccer books on the market teach about general knowledge of infrequent game situations without the clear steps to put the ball in the net. This book is specifically for players that need the tips, tricks, tweaks, and techniques to 10X the number of goals he or she scores in a season. In Soccer Shooting & Finishing, there are well over 100 tips for you and your team to score more goals. From 1v1/2v1/1v2/2v2s to 5 shooting techniques, heading the ball to getting rebounds efficiently, and turning with a defender behind you to correct ball placement on shots, this book will help you approach common game conditions and be in high probability situations that can make you the MVP goal scorer. When many coaches' advice for scoring is to pass more, improve your conditioning, practice taking free kicks, and hope for the best, this book stands out on delivering the steps to turn any player into an unstoppable goal producer. Every topic is explained to answer the question, "How can I develop a system to get at least one goal in each game?" Learn what coaches do not teach, not because they don't care, but because they just don't know how to get a player to score consistently. Often, coaches only emphasize the team's abilities to pass and work as a unit, while giving no time to the scoring skills of each individual. It is just as essential to develop the players within the system as it to strengthen the squad itself. Who this book is for:-The defender who gets a few chances to shoot and wants to make the most of them or who wants to make the transition from defense to offense.
-The midfielder who strikes the ball at or outside the 18-yard box, but has had little success at scoring.
-The striker/forward who doesn't score 2 goals a game and wants an entire book on their role of scoring.
-The parent who loves their child, but hates to see them struggle with a lack of self-esteem from not being able to score.
-The coach that knows their squad can score more if their players' shooting power, heading form, and awareness on how to outsmart defenders were improved through increased IQ. Outcomes of applying the facts in this book:
-Learn how to create enough space to get a shot on target.
-Know how to shoot correctly and when to use each shooting form.
-Ensure that you are on the stat sheet every game. This book gives every player the ability to (1) score more goals (2) lead your team to victory and (3) develop the confidence of an amazing soccer player! This book has the facts that will empower every youth player, trainer, and parent who cares and wants more. It is time for the countless hours of SHOOTING to finally pay off. Are you looking to improve your soccer skills and get a stronger team?
This book is the answer to your questions.
Soccer is the world's most popular sport. In the Summer of 2018 the latest World Cup Finals take place in Russia, with some of the best (and, perhaps, luckiest) teams in the world participating. The competition will see teams divided into mini leagues, based on their world rankings and a draw. The top two teams from each group go forward to the knock out stages.
The best two will compete the final. There is a more than reasonable bet that existing champions
Germany will once again lift the trophy, although Brazil, Argentina, Spain and France will all fancy their chances. The Belgians have the team of a life time, and could triumph, while the likes of Saudi Arabia and Panama should make the most of their time in Eastern Europe - it will probably be short lived. As for Russia itself, the lowest ranked side in the competition, well, who knows? Home advantage can count for a lot.
This short focus on the World Cup is of great relevance to the book that follows. Consider the team below:
Goalkeepers: Jan Oblak, stalwart of the Spanish giants Athletico Madrid - a team whose recent success in challenging the established giants of La Liga, Real Madrid and Barcelona, has been built on gritty, defiant defending; Gianluigi Buffon, legendary player between the posts.
Defenders: David Alaba, kingpin of Bayern Munich; Antonio Valencia, rampaging wing back of Manchester United and Virgil van Dijk, the most highly rated defender in England's Premier League, just transferred for a record (for a defender) fee approaching $100 million, Giorgio Chiellini, tough, no nonsense centre back with more than a touch of skill.
Midfielders: Christian Pulisic, Borussio Dortmand's well regarded midfielder; Arjen Robben, the Bayern Munich and former Chelsea wizard of the wing; Daniele De Rossi, a central defensive midfielder who would walk into any team in the world.
Attackers: Alexi Sanchez, at the time of writing, European powerhouse Arsenal's outstanding player; Gareth Bale, the Real Madrid attacking maestro; Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, one of the most promising strikers on the planet.
Those of you with good football knowledge will spot that these great players, along with many more, are some of the giants of the game who will not feature in the World Cup Finals, other than perhaps in the commentary box, pundit's chair or newspaper columns of June 2018.
How can this be? How can such individuals not represent their countries on the biggest stage of all?
The answer, as we know, is that soccer is team game, where the collective talents of the players outweigh the individual skills of the maestro. The great sides do, naturally, incorporate such talents within their squad, but it is so often the case that a team that works together and combines well outperforms a side made up of more talented individuals who are less effective team players.
And the secret to success is possession of the football. Passing and the possession this helps to retain really are two of the most important parts of team play for a soccer team. This book will look at a number of ways both coaches and players can improve such aspects of their own side's performance.
Here's What's Included In This Book:
- Teamwork - The Importance of Possession
- The Mentality of the Team
- The Importance of Possession
- Team Possession Drills
- Individual Possession Drills
- Team Passing Drills

Is your soccer team getting a lot of chances but unable to score? Or you are personally unable to score goals as a striker? Take your soccer shooting skills to the next level with our book
Read below:
If you do not shoot, you cannot score. That lesson must be instilled into players right from the first time they kick a football. Of course, we want every player to develop game awareness, to know when a pass is the best option, but if players become concerned about criticism if they shoot and miss, then they will be in a team that never scores. And therefore, never wins.
The pleasure of striking the ball cleanly, and sending it flying into the back of the net is impossible to put into words. Just look at professionals when they succeed in their aim (and with their aim, of course). The spectacular scissors kick, overhead effort, perfect chip sends the player, their team and any crowd into a state of euphoria.
Equally important, and often just as satisfying, is the neat and simple finish; the awareness of being in the right place, the speed of reaction when the ball breaks, the calmness under pressure to slide the ball home.
Go to almost any general compilation of clips online and the overwhelming majority will be shots - usually ones that lead to a goal. This book will provide a series of drills which will help coaches and players to become star shooters, leading to more goals, more wins and even greater joy at playing this most beautiful of games.
