by Makoto Yukimura (Author)
The beloved manga action epic that inspired the hit anime returns in this premium collector's hardcover, including volumes 4-6 of the Japanese edition and original bonus content!
From the throne of Denmark, the callous and aging King Sweyn covets the rich fields of England, and worries that his son, Canute, may never be man enough to wear the crown... Askeladd has embarked on the greatest gamble of his career, playing off the brave but thick Thorkell the Tall against the king's own guard in an attempt to "rescue" the youngest prince, and pocket a handsome reward. Yet a grueling march past the ruins of empires, with winter closing in, tests the loyalty of Askeladd's band, and the true loyalties of Askeladd himself may lie not with the Vikings of the present but with a legendary king of the bygone past... This premium, hardcover edition presents the acclaimed action epic in hardcover, at a bigger size than ever before (7 by 10 inches), wrapped in a red leather-patterned cover with logo stamping. This new edition features all the content of the original release, plus new and exclusive bonus illustrations, interviews, and behind-the-scenes details never before translated. Includes volumes 4-6 of the Japanese edition of Vinland Saga and the following bonus content:- Exclusive color art and bonus comic by Faith Erin Hicks (The Last of Us: American Dreams)
- Creator Makoto Yukimura opens up about the pivotal moments of the story
- Faux leather covers featuring a historical Latin inscription
