"WHAT A BOOK - extremely informative and insightful, written with so much passion and historical fact-finding, it takes you on a real journey; a must-read for all athletics fans! The Harvey-Benns Method is fascinating and a real step forward in evaluating performances across the generations."
- JONATHAN EDWARDS, Triple Jump World Record Holder, Olympic Champion, World Champion, European Champion & Commonwealth Champion
"AN INCREDIBLE BOOK - brilliantly researched and a gripping read from start to finish! This is the bar upon which all sports history writing will now need to aspire!"
- WILLIE BANKS, Former Triple Jump World Record Holder
TRIPLE JUMP TRAILBLAZERS tells the fascinating history of the triple jump and how this most unique of track and field disciplines catapulted into being a staple of the Olympics athletics programme that remains today. It plots the chronology of human progress through the early days of amateur athletics to the professionalism that has excelled distances beyond what was once thought possible, through iconic sporting heroes whose incredible stories give tremendous insight beyond the distances and the medals...
In addition to the amazing stories, Triple Jump Trailblazers is a statistician's dream - not only recounting the progress of performance, but also tracking how and why key events took place!
Plus, for the first time, triple jumpers through history (male & female) are ranked using the unique and acclaimed HARVEY-BENNS METHOD(R) to determine who really is the greatest triple jumper to have ever lived!
