When she flees from an unwanted wedding, will she follow the path to courage and love?
Medieval France. Princess Gomikky feels hopeless. Growing up sheltered after the death of the beloved queen, the fifteen-year-old can't believe it when her sad father agrees to an arranged marriage to an evil, old duke. And with nowhere else to turn, she calls on her fairy godmother to help her thwart her horrid suitor's plans.
As Gomikky comes up with impossible tasks for her would-be husband to complete, she's dismayed when he magically conquers each challenge. Driven to despair, the distraught princess takes the only option left and escapes disguised in an ugly donkey skin...
Will the young royal fugitive discover her destiny and find her happily ever after?
With a unique narrative style as told through witty banter between a fictional grandmother and her grandchild, author, renowned journalist, psychiatrist, and educator Fawzia Mai Tung's deft retelling of Charles Perrault's classic story will delight all types and levels of readers.
The Wonderful Tale of Donkey Skin is the engaging first book in the May Fairy series of middle-grade fairy tales, folklore, legends and mythology. If you or your child like relatable heroines, appealing illustrations, and fun adventures, then you'll adore Fawzia Mai Tung's reimagined tale.
