Some truths are hidden. Others are feared. This one could change the world.
Benjamin Arlin was once a renowned beast fighter, until tragedy left him a broken man. Now, he serves as the favored mercenary of General Delaney-a ruthless leader holding the line against an impending war with the massive, scarred Great Beasts of the Southern Mountains.
After years of violence under the general's command, Ben wants out. But he has a mission to complete.
His task: retrieve an ancient book known only as The Story and deliver it to the general. It should be simple-until the general's new orders, and a mysterious woman from an ancient order called The Chosen, send Ben into an enchanted forest teeming with monsters, painful memories, and long-buried powers.
At the center of it all lies The Story-a forgotten truth long buried in darkness. Some would kill to keep it hidden. Others will risk everything to bring it into the light.
Step into a hidden world where truth can change everything-start the journey now.
