by Brad Kelle (Author), Stephanie Smith Matthews (Author)
For many, the Old Testament is an unwieldy collection of stories, poems, rituals, and laws. Is there any way to make sense of all these different kinds of writings? Combining scholarship with readability, The Old Testament in 12 Verses clears a path to understanding this often misunderstood part of the Bible. By exploring twelve key Scripture verses and their accompanying passages, the authors illuminate the major themes of the Old Testament and equip the reader with a sound overview of the Bible's first thirty-nine books. Written by an exceptional group of biblical scholars, this anthology is a must read for anyone wanting a concise but in-depth look at the Old Testament. The Old Testament in 12 Verses contributors include: Brad E. Kelle, Mitchel Modine, Tsuneki Toyoda, Michael G. VanZant, Jennifer M. Matheny, Derek Davis, Kevin Mellish, Stephen Riley, Christina Bohn, Timothy M. Green, Marty Alan Michelson, Thomas J. King, Stephanie Smith Matthews, and Beth M. Stovell.
