by Scott Emerson (Author), Howard Post (Author), Howard Post (Illustrator)
Embark on a heartwarming journey with William Wilkins in this imaginative tale where red cowboy boots transport a boy to magical adventures--a perfect story for young readers and parents looking to nurture creativity.
When a boy named William Wilkins puts on his red cowboy boots, his imagination can take him anywhere--to the Amazon River, to the Wild West, to the moon, and even flying on a magic carpet! When his feet outgrow the boots, William is understandably despondent. However after falling asleep one night he discovers he can still visit these far-off places, because the magic is in his mind, not in his boots! Lexile: 670LFront Jacket
They weren't magic in the usual way. They didn't glow or throw off sparks or walk around by themselves. A miniature genie didn't live inside them. But when William put them on, he could go anywhere he wanted.
Who doesn't yearn to travel to exotic and fantastic places and see the world in all its splendor, to discover ancient as well as modern-day cultures and peoples--all in the blink of an eye?
Scott Emerson and Howard Post give full rein to imagination as they tell the story of William, who is able to travel with his dog, Bob, anyplace in time and space that he desires--all because of his magic, red cowboy boots--he thinks!
Beautifully illustrated, The Magic Boots explores the feelings of wanderlust in young and old alike. It's a delightful story to read again and again.
