by Roberts (Author)
Being able to tell your own story in different scenarios, situations, under pressure, under any circumstance, and in any setting can be the difference between a life of advancement and opportunity or a life mired in mediocrity and regret. Preaching your own Gospel is a wonderful way to not only give people insight to what makes you tick but it also allows you to confidently connect with people professionally and personally. Often, we fall into the trap of only telling people a one-sided story of accomplishments and numbers without giving them any context to who, what, when, where, why, or how.
In The Gospel of You Thomas Roberts shares his life story, focusing on the peaks and valleys of his personal journey to inspire you to share your own gospel. Thomas tells his origin story growing up as a black youth in the 80s and 90s in Cincinnati, the influence of his big brother, the impact of his mother, and the importance of the presence of his father in the early stages of his life. Moving on to his transition to West Point, Thomas reveals the nature of his Army Football career, his shift from student athlete to cadet, and the leaders and friends who helped him to discover his true talents. In this compelling and refreshing memoir, Thomas Roberts is honest, raw, and completely vulnerable.
These stories are meant to inspire you to look at your own journey and how answering important questions about your mother, your father, your lineage, your birthplace, where you have been, and who you know, can assist you in connecting with others, helping them understand you and your personal values. As you read The Gospel of You, listen to Thomas's clear message: your story matters and sharing your gospel matters even more!
