by Merlin Schlichting (Author)
In an era when handwritten letters are nearly a lost art, The Schlichting Letters Collection offers a rare and invaluable treasure-a preserved library of correspondence spanning from the 1860s to the early 20th century. Descendants of Hinrich and Caroline Schlichting are fortunate to have access to these letters, which document the experiences of the Schlichting family as they immigrated to the United States and maintained ties with relatives in Germany. This collection, including personal journals and memoirs, provides a rich insight into the lives, challenges, and connections of a family navigating the complexities of a new world while staying rooted in their heritage.
