by Takayuki Kubota (Author)
Gosoku Ryu is a complete karate style composed of special techniques and unique kata developed by legendary Soke Takayuki Kubota. Gosoku Ryu, which means 'strong' and 'fast', combines the blazing speed that comes from the softness and elusiveness of most Chinese styles with the devastating massive power of Japanese techniques. Soke Kubota also added elements of aikido, judo and jiu-jitsu to create a complete martial art method that delivers maximum protection on the street and judge-pleasing performances in tournaments. Tak Kubota, Chief Instructor and Head of the "International Karate Association", is one of the world's most-treasured karate-do masters and teachers. His Association is represented in 53 countries and his amazing techniques have been taught to more than 800 police departments, agencies and bureaus around the world, including the F.B.I. and the Tokyo and Los Angeles Police Departments. In this new revised edition, Soke Kubota not only shows you in step-by-step fashion why Gosoku Ryu has become the most-widely accepted style of karate in the world but offers a candid one-on-one interview about his life and methods he used to develop this unique style.
