by Carol Hanson Hall (Author)
It was a dream job and Carol Hanson Hall enjoyed it for 28 years. In Stewardess she recounts some of her most meaningful memories from her years as a Northwest Airlines stewardess, most from her early years of flying in the 1960s, the glory days of airline travel. She explains the requirements to be a stewardess (hint: daily inspections of nails and weigh-ins were just a start), the colleagues who became lifelong friends, the hilarious antics of some pilots, the unforgettable passengers, and the celebrities she met (what was Paul Newman really like?). She also remembers the scary times, the hijackings, and the friends she lost. Most of all, she's grateful for a career that let a shy young small-town Minnesota girl achieve her dream of traveling the world and a lifetime of adventures.
