by Lori Denning (Author)
The people behind the stories in the Old Testament were not always the heroes we now see them to be. They were real people, with real struggles. They were sinners, failures, and doubters. But they were also conduits for miracles and wonders. The heroes are the people who failed, struggled, and were imperfect, and yet had the strength to return to God. Wrapping together history, language, culture, and motifs, author Lori Denning brings light and deeper interpretation to the Old Testament stories we already know so well. With these powerful examinations of Abraham, Miriam, Gideon, Ruth, and more, you will Ô Ω Come to know the real men and women behind the pagesÔ Ωtheir mistakes, their failings, and their triumphs. Ô Ω Recognize the Lord in every story as He works to make these imperfect people better. Ô Ω Understand that we can also succeed in Christ, no matter our present doubts or imperfections. Just like the men and women whose stories are recorded in scripture, we, too, can become instruments in the LordÔ Ωs hand and be heroes of our own lives. All it takes is putting our trust and our faith in God.
