by Kathleen M. Waddington (Author)
Life is unpredictable. One moment it feels steady and familiar; the next, everything changes. But while we can't control the cards we're dealt, we can choose how to play them.
Playing Life is a thoughtful exploration of how human beings can navigate existence with greater meaning, resilience, and compassion. Author Waddington, a healthcare practitioner with decades of experience and a lifelong student of the human journey--uses her professional insight and personal reflection to examine the delicate balance between life's hardships and its opportunities.
From the universal desire for purpose to the struggles of daily living, she addresses the trials that shape us all: the relentless pursuit of perfection, the burden of modern stress, and the inevitability of illness, loss, and death. With honesty and empathy, she doesn't shy away from the difficult conversations, shining light on topics we often avoid yet deeply need to confront.
But Playing Life is not only about struggle--it's about hope, connection, and growth. Waddington reveals how awareness of body language, wise time management, and embracing diversity can change the way we live. She shows how every encounter, every obstacle, and every triumph teaches us something valuable--if only we are willing to see it.
Life, she reminds us, is a shared game board. Each person brings a unique perspective, yet all must move across the same terrain. Whether you play cautiously or boldly, optimistically or sceptically, every choice carries weight. By engaging all your senses, taking risks, and embracing lessons as they come, you can discover joy, resilience, and prosperity even in uncertain times.
Practical, compassionate, and deeply human, Playing Life invites readers to approach existence not as a burden, but as a game worth playing to the fullest. It's a call to live intentionally, to learn from every experience, and to sit at the table of life ready to play your best hand.
