by James Steele (Author)
"They tell you, Do not ever find out which crimes your patients have committed. Stay objective, treat the patient, treat the illness. That sounds great in theory. It is almost impossible to do, though. Humans have a curious nature. It got the better of us in the case of Edgar Shivers as the nurses and I looked up his rap sheet on the Department of Corrections website one night. There were numerous articles in local papers about him too, eyewitness and victim statements about his heinous acts. You cannot help but wonder, Why do I always have to be the good guy?"
A physician haunted by past experiences helps a young victim seek revenge on her assailant, hoping to vanquish his own personal demons in the process. Will helping her satisfy his thirst for vengeance? Or is there more work to be done?
