by Joe Lane (Author)
What are black and white and read all over? Nun Funnies! Back before Sister Act, before Nunsense, before Sister Mary Elephant and even The Flying Nun, nuns were tickling our funny bones in cartoon form. Here, originally published by the Catholic magazine Extension, are hundreds of examples, one for each day of the year (no need to take Sundays off.) Really, as many nun cartoons as the average person will need in a lifetime, all by the talented Joe Lane!
Author Biography
Joe Lane was a pen name of Joseph Eichberger (1911-2009), a World War II Navy veteran and Chicago Fire Department engineer whose cartooning career included pre-Golden Age comic books as well as a long run producing cartoons about nuns, priests, and the faithful for the Catholic magazine Extension.
