Learn Read about real creatures that are just as unique, as wondrous, as awe-inspiring as fantasy. Every animal featured has something that makes it rare and special. Build reading comprehension The reading passages on each animal start out short, with main points in bold, and color coded. As the book progresses, reading passages become less structured, requiring the reader to do more to recognize main ideas. Each reading passage is followed by a graphic organizer for readers to demonstrate what they have learned. Improve fine motor skills Simple but realistic coloring pages allow for artists of all skills levels to be successful in creating accurate or fantastical images of the featured animals. Go down the rabbit hole Every animal featured has "More to Learn" resources of videos, articles, and activities, including 15 brand new Beyond Homeschool exclusives. These activities were designed to engage learners, encourage critical thinking, and/or build reading comprehension skills. All extended resources are free.
