by Sonja Hutchinson (Author)
Calilee Acoris, the ninth princess, is claimed by the sea god. Instead of accepting her fate as a sacrifice, she fights him off and washes ashore in a neighboring kingdom. Tru, a small-town stable hand, wants to learn his origins and reconnect with family. Instead, he finds a battered Cali in the bean field. He's drawn to her, despite her refusal to tell him about herself. All the gods in the pantheon attack Cali, and she discovers she possesses a god-spark, the ability to become one herself or to become a power-giving snack for the god who kills her. She has twenty-eight days to ascend to godhood-or die trying.
