As a member of an organized crime family, remaining loyal and keeping one's mouth shut is the only option for staying alive. But for duplicitous hitman Devlin Davenport, staying alive isn't part of the plan. Handpicked to be the right-hand man of Mob boss Morgan the Razor, Devlin oversees one of the largest crime families in the world, but in a fit of rage he sends everything crashing down. With no choice, he hatches a plan to escape. But before he can see it through, an electrical fire engulfs his home on a quiet neighborhood street in the wee hours of an ordinary April morning. The body of Devlin Davenport is found at the scene. The conclusion of the subsequent inquest is accidental death. The case is closed, and the matter remained at rest...until the day an unexpected visitor kidnaps the youngest son of a revered police captain, setting into motion the end of a thirty-year vendetta.
At the head of the Crandall family is police captain Harry. As a legendary officer responsible for taking down some of the city's biggest mobsters he wears the mask of respectability, but he is also a philandering husband and abusive father. After Jay's abduction, the family is forced to confront their complicated past and grapple with the truth, but is it enough to save Jay? An electrifying tale of betrayal and vengeance, Mask of Respectability will resonate with fans of James Patterson and Tracy Wolff.
