by Faye Berger (Author)
Mariachi is a spicy mix of memoir, travelogue, and how-not-to, all keeping in tune with the enchanting music of Mexico. From working with laborers on the high plateaus of the Sierra Madre to many years later owning a condo on the Pacific coast, Berger takes us along on the ride, with lessons on the go. She invites us to live Mexico. Those enticing guitar sounds in the heart of Mexico have continued like a soundtrack through Berger's journey for renewal. But renewal is tested time and time again as challenges of owning beach property arise. The question lingers, "Why is this Mexican dream life so difficult?" Or this one: "What the devil are we doing owning property in Mexico?"
