by McConnell (Author)
Meet Maddie, a first grader with Type 1 Diabetes, and her loyal service dog, Benji. Benji isn't just a companion-he's Maddie's protector, alerting her when her sugar levels are too high or too low, and keeping her safe at school every day.
From math to recess, Benji is always by Maddie's side, ensuring she stays healthy while being part of the school community. Inspired by true events, Maddie and Benji Go to School celebrates the special bond between a girl and her service dog and highlights the life-changing role service dogs play for those with medical needs.
This is based on the true story of Maddie and Benji Bockmon.
