by Lance K. Ewing (Author)
In an instant, the world changed. Without power, technology, or the rule of law, can a young man guide his companions to safety?
Alex Kade is ready for some R&R. Hardworking but carrying his share of regrets, the UCLA film school student tries to keep the peace among his friends during a winter vacation to the rugged Colorado Rockies. But when a startling flash lights up the sky over their remote cabin, the twenty-two-year-old is horrified to realize the country is under attack-and gets his group walking toward town.
Surviving the treacherous hike back to Estes Park, the young man is determined to carry his weight in the small community while awaiting spring and a chance to head for Texas. And as mayhem eats at the remnants of civilization, Alex strives to make things right with his former fiancée as her no-good beau breaks off from the group to join with an unsettling stranger.
Can he overcome near-impossible odds to keep the fires of hope burning?
Long Road Home is the thought-provoking first book in the Long Road Home: A Post-Apocalyptic Next-World Series. If you like everyman heroes who grow, the power of the human spirit, and nail-biting stakes, then you'll love Lance K Ewing's profound tale.
