As Allied bombings begin to rain down on Berlin, Magda's parents send her to the mountains to stay with her uncles, who secure her a job at the Berghof, Hitler's retreat. After a series of rigorous physical and mental exams, she is assigned to the kitchen. Her task? To join the group of women dedicated to tasting the Führer's food to ensure it isn't poisoned.
Amid the beauty of the Bavarian Alps, Magda gradually forgets the horrors of war and the danger of her new job. However, this apparent calm is shattered when she meets SS Captain Karl Weber, a conspirator who tries to convince her that the Führer must die and that she is the key piece in a plot that will test her intelligence and loyalty.
