by Roy Goble (Author), D. R. Jacobsen (With)
From the creator of Junkyard Wisdom comes a collection of authentic daily devotions that delve into the human, humorous, and sometimes messy aspects of the Advent story. In his signature 'gritty' style, Roy Goble shares unique insights and thought-provoking reflections, making this familiar story new again and guiding you through Advent.
Take a few moments each day to reflect on the journey that transformed the world. Cue the arrival of a group of bewildered shepherds, stumbling into the stable, eager to see for themselves if the angels' incredible message was true and begin your own Advent journey to Christmas.
Back Cover: The human side of Advent begins with a teenage girl...
Have you ever wondered how Mary broke the miraculous news to her parents? Or why the angel might have told Joseph, "Suck it up, buttercup?" Or if the couple managed to make it to Bethlehem without getting lost?
Roy Goble has, and in his signature style-authentic, thought-provoking, and funny-he undertakes a one-of-a-kind Advent adventure.
Each of these daily devotions celebrates the human, humorous, and sometimes messy aspects of the story we think we already know, helping us discover the lasting hope and joy at the heart of the season.
