A most amazing book that was put together over 40 years, when a Yankee batboy asked the players to write their greatest thrill in baseball on a questionnaire in the early 1970's. Discovering these responses twenty years later, the batboy, who was in the baseball card business, decided to contact every living current and former major leaguer, and ask them what their greatest thrill and most memorable moment in baseball was. The response was unbelievable. Thousands of players wrote what was endearing and most meaningful to them. Interesting occurrences that only they could relate to, yet the side of baseball, which is at the very heart of the National Pastime from John Paciorek, who played only one major league game, but finished with the highest batting average with at least 3 at-bats to John Miller, who was the first Yankee to have a homerun his first at bat and then 4 years later hit a homerun his last at bat in the big leagues. Finishing with a total of 2 career homers. All these stories are from the Major Leagues, "who did this In Their Own Write."
