Part of NLT Immerse: The Reading Bible, Complete Set, the Winner of the 2022 Christian Book Award for Bible of the Year!
Beginnings is the second installment of the six volumes of Immerse: The Bible Reading Experience program. Beginnings takes the reader on a new and unique journey through the first five books of the Old Testament, the Pentateuch--also known as the Torah. From Genesis through Deuteronomy, Beginnings provides the reader with enjoyable and impactful readings. The end result is a Bible developed for the purpose of being read and understood, not referred to. Beginnings is a new way to interact with God's Word.
Beginnings delivers Scripture to the reader as it was originally created: without chapter or verse breaks. While references are made available for ease of finding specific Scripture references, those references do not appear within the actual text of Scripture. This makes for uninterrupted reading of God's Word. Created with the look and feel of a paperback book, and written using the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, the most readable translation available, Beginnings enables you to easily read and understand the Bible.
Ideal for a fresh approach to Bible study or the spiritual practice of Lectio Divina, this collection of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy features:
- Comfortable single-column text
- No chapter or verse markings
- Book introductions with historical and biblical context
- Natural literary breaks
- A logical book order grouped chronologically or by similar ancient audiences
Contains visual markers for both an 8-week reading plan and a 16-week reading plan.

Welcome to IMMERSE, The Bible Reading Experience
The Bible is an invitation to discover God's Story and then to step into it. So the best thing we can do is immerse ourselves in it--to read at length without distractions, with historical and literary perspective, and in a life-long rhythm with friends. Immerse is a call to a vibrant, transformative relationship with God and others through his word.
Immerse: The Reading Bible comes in six volumes and features the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, a clear and faithful rendering of God's word in contemporary English.
IMMERSE - BEGINNINGS includes the first five books of the Bible, known as the Torah (meaning "instruction"). These books describe the origins of God's creation, the human rebellion, and the family of Israel--the people God chose to be a light to all peoples. We follow the covenant community from its earliest ancestors to the time it is about to enter the Promised Land.
