by Adolfo Bioy Casares (Author)
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION "Love -for Bioy Casares- is a privileged perception, the most complete and lucid one possible, not only of the world's unreality, but also our own."--Octavio Paz In the eighteen stories in this anthology, Adolfo Bioy Casares explores romantic relationships through a variety of plots and situations. These include a woman's enduring impact on the memories of two rivals for her affections; the fate of a man who loses all he has without getting what he wants; the sense of surprise that characterizes the beginning of a romance; a crime committed to protect a couple's intimacy; and a pair of lovers who reunite after a hundred years. An enchanting mix of fantasy, humor and humanity, the stories in this collection reflect universal themes in the form of vivid and concrete experiences.Author Biography
