by Ali Luce (Author)
Ali Luce's poetry collection, From the Porch Rocker, fully embodies, embraces, and emphasizes the watchful gaze of the poet. With melodic, image-filled language, Luce captures the tiniest "mysteries hidden from plain sight," untold stories of sailors, sirens, and sea-a "maritime spell"-the peace of wading "through wildflowers and grassy tides," and the invaluable, healing nature of friendships that "warm our souls." These poems don't just speak to, but revel in-and celebrate!-the human experience as we move through-and with-the world and all its living creatures, including one another. With her collection, Luce beckons us to join as she awe-inspiringly wanders through the magic of everyday existence-in "barefooted delight."
