Newcastle United Football League Champions
What a wonderful sound that is, and it was first heard at the end of the 1904-05 season. In a title race that went down to the very last game of the season Newcastle United were crowned Champions of the Football League after defeating local North-East rivals Middlesbrough at Ayresome Park on 29 April 1905.
This book chronicles Newcastle United's passage through the Football League First Division and their path to glory - achieved after only 12 years in existence! A phenomenal feat in itself but they almost beat that by reaching the FA Cup Final and almost sealing an unbelievable double.
If you're a fan of Newcastle United then this is a "must read" book giving you the facts and figures for each of the steps it took to take the title, culminating in that game at Ayresome Park which ultimately decided the League Title.
If you're a football fan in general then this book is for you too as it details game by game the 1904-05 season in all its glory...
