by Rius (Author)
--RIUS ENGLISH DESCRIPTIONThe most entertaining history of philosophy! In one volume, we take a look at all the major philosophers, from pre-Socratic to modern-day thinkers. Believe it or not, philosophy can be a lot of fun. Creator of Los Agachados (The Crouched), Mis Supermachos (My Supermachos), and more than a hundred published books, Rius, the great Mexican cartoonist, holds a key place in the history of popular culture. Philosophy (from Greek filos = love, sophia = wisdom: the love of wisdom) is nothing more than man's attempt to know his place in the universe, and to try to explain it through reason. But hang on a minute: First, we want to say something about this book... First, this is not a book for specialists, but for beginners. Secondly, although we've tried to use language that is simple and understandable by everyone, we recommend that you read this at a leisurely pace, trying to understand the meaning of every word. And thirdly, open your mind, don't get stuck on what you "already know"; accept and reason through things, even if they clash with what you already believe... (This is for those who believe in dogmas, Marxist or otherwise.) Believe it or not, philosophy can actually be a lot of fun!
Author Biography
