by Banff Isabella Perkins (Author)
"In the heart of modern-day Quebec City lies a world divided between regular humans and the chemically evolved Machigai. Infected with a curse that grants them unique abilities, Machigai face a harrowing reality of physical and mental decay. Few survive beyond age 25. Society and governments worldwide fear and ostracize the Machigai, relegating them to hunted outcasts surviving on the fringes of society.
Join 17-year-old Lunette Anastasia Tremblay, a Machigai struggling to survive in a society that fears and rejects her kind. Born into a tumultuous family that threatens her very existence, Lunette flees and finds friendship and a home in Aska, another Machigai. But when Aska vanishes, Lunette's life takes a drastic turn, leading her into the secret and dangerous world of Machigai resistance. She embarks on a mission to liberate imprisoned Machigai children and defy the oppressive regime.
Delve into this gripping tale of social inequality, discrimination, and resilience as Lunette fights to reclaim her identity and protect her newfound family. Will she succeed in a world that has deemed her kind both feared and forgotten?"
