by Caroline Lavoie (Author)
In a small town in the Rockies, a mountain looms: the Devil's Tail. According to local lore, a wicked trickster haunts its slopes, and whoever glimpses it is cursed to lose someone they love.
Alex refuses to believe she's been cursed. She only ever saw the beast in her nightmares. Even if it's real, it can't hurt her because she doesn't let anyone get too close to her heart. That is, until Amka moves to town. In no time, Alex's carefully built walls begin to crumble.
But what if Alex's fear of loss is a curse of its own?
There are a hundred ways to die on the Devil's Tail, but only one way to break the curse. The path is treacherous, and the beast is waiting.
