by Rachel Hawthorne (Author)
The third installment in fan-favorite author Rachel Hawthorne's Dark Guardian paranormal romance trilogy, featuring Connor, from Dark Guardian #2.
Connor has watched for years while the other Dark Guardians have undergone their transformations into wolves. What he doesn't understand is why he's not feeling any of the inner stirrings that they have.
The only stirrings that he feels are for Brittany--he's certain that she's his destined mate. Which makes it all the more devastating when the first full moon after his eighteenth birthday passes and he doesn't transform.
He's just desperate enough to become a wolf that he'll go to extremes he never thought possible. . . and put all the Dark Guardians in incredible danger. But does he really need to change to keep Brittany's love?
- Fated Mates: He knows Brittany is his soulmate. But what happens when the one thing that defines his kind is the one thing he can't do?
- High Stakes Romance: To become the wolf he was born to be and win the girl he loves, Connor will risk everything--even the safety of his entire pack.
- Coming of Age Fantasy: For a young werewolf, the first transformation is everything. For Connor, it might be a failure that costs him his future, his pack, and his mate.
- Supernatural Suspense: A desperate choice, a dangerous path, and a secret that could tear the Dark Guardians apart. Can love survive when destiny fails?

I've loved him forever, but he can never be mine.
brittany is determined to prove herself to the Dark Guardians. And yet she's been keeping a devastating secret: She hasn't experienced any of the intense, early signs of change that mark a Dark Guardian's transformation. The only intense feelings she has are for Connor--and she's kept that a secret, too. But she knows she'll never truly have Connor's love if she's not a Shifter like him.
At the first full moon after her birthday, her greatest fear is realized: She doesn't transform. Brittany is so desperate to become a wolf that she'll go to extremes she never thought possible . . . and put all the Dark Guardians in incredible danger.
