Feeling cranky or frustrated? Take a deep breath--it's Calm-Down Time / Momento para calmarse!

Every parent, caregiver--and toddler--knows the misery that comes with meltdowns. This bilingual board book explores tools and techniques to help toddlers regulate their emotions when tantrums are on the horizon.

This soothing English Spanish board book:

  • Promotes Essential Social Emotional Learning Skills: Through rhythmic English and Spanish text and warm illustrations, this gentle, reassuring children's book teaches toddlers simple tools to release and express their feelings in a healthy way. "One, two three...I'm calm as can be, I'm taking care of me."
  • Learn to Manage Meltdowns With Calm Down Time: Children learn to use a calming corner--a quiet space where they can express their emotions and calm down. Readers explore all the ways they can use a calm down corner: a designated area where they can feel comfortable to cry, ask for a hug, sing to themselves, be rocked in a grown-up's arms, talk about feelings, and breathe. After a break, toddlers will feel like new--and adults will, too!
  • Includes Helpful Tips for Parents & Caregivers: Perfect for ESL families and classrooms, tips and social emotional learning activities are included in the back of the mindfulness book to support a growth mindset and positive behavior.

Toddler Tools(R) Board Books Series: features award-winning children's books that help toddlers and caregivers navigate daily transitions and routines with ease. From sharing and manners to cleaning up messes and regulating emotions, these positive board books are tools of encouragement for young learners during challenging moments and routines. Select titles are also available in Spanish bilingual editions.
