by Jacob Dykstra (Author)
For nearly five years Nykolette risked it all fighting for her home and country until bitter defeat turned her prisoner of war. Now, ensconced deep in Aisymr, the wretched and infamous island prison, Nykolette has forgotten even the dream of freedom. Trapped inside the enemy's capital for months on end, she has yet to be granted even a gasp of clean air. Cast away in a hostile land, her hopes to ever escape her stony cell have all but dwindled into shadow.
But what matters a single woman's fate when the heart of Lyrika is swept up in the chaos of war?
This is a story of how even in the midst of terrible loss, there is still something important, and perhaps beautiful, to be discovered about oneself and the world...and that those discoveries can be their own fantastic means of escape.
Welcome ye traveler to M rlabryn, one of the crown-jewel cities across the world known, laced by its historied streets, its stormy fjords, and ancient, colossal Dremyrliths towering over all. Jacob Dykstra's debut novel is an introduction into a fictional world in which both personal journeys and the grand arc of humankind are ever enshrouded by the deeper myths and Mists of the Ruenstyr.
