by Emily Parent (Author)
San Jose writer and zine artist Emily Parent's debut poetry collection Butterfly Net explores themes of rebirth and the journey to self-discovery. The poems navigate the challenges of reinvention, including the search for identity through external validation and the realization that true selfhood comes from within. Through playful language and irreverent hand-drawn illustration, Parent guides readers through a lush garden of poetic introspection and transformation. Butterfly Net is a reflection on the struggles and triumphs of finding your own meaning and sense of self in a world designed to numb, distract, and define you.
