A powerful and empowering young adult novel about the pursuit of success against all odds.
"Provides insights into long-held traditions at a mostly unfamiliar, formerly male-dominated institution. Compelling, at times stomach-turning, reading."--School Library Journal "Andi's story is an incredibly inspiring one that proves anything is achievable if you want it badly enough."--Teen People Book ClubSeventeen-year-old Andrea "Andi" Davis isn't your average West Point cadet. for Andi, entry into the U.S. Army's prestigious service academy means a chance to escape her dysfunctional family and to prove to herself that she has what it takes. But nothing could have prepared her for the rigors of "Beast"--insider slang for Cadet Basic Training--or for the strength that Andi will find within herself. Compelling and powerful, Battle Dress is a tale of triumph--based on the author's own experiences--that won't fail to move you.
