Meet Aswadoo the Crow, one of the iconic characters from the poems ofSyrian poet Suleiman Al-Issa, brought to life through our MADE51 by UNHCR collaboration.
Hand-crocheted from organic cotton by talented refugee artisans, Aswadoo is more than a toy — he’s a symbol of wisdom, resilience, and creative spirit. With his bright orange beak and curious eyes, he reminds us that storytelling transcends borders, carrying hope and culture from one generation to the next.
Fun Fact: In many Middle Eastern folk tales, crows are seen as wise messengers — keepers of memory and meaning between worlds.
