by Anne-Marie Ryan (Author)
Sixteen men were executed in the aftermath of the Easter Rising in Ireland in 1916: fifteen were shot, and one was hanged. Their deaths changed the course of Irish history. But who were these leaders who set in motion events that would lead to the creation of an independent Ireland? Aimed at those fascinated by Irish cultural heritage and historical events, this compelling narrative offers an in-depth look at the lives of the executed leaders of the Easter Rising who were a diverse group including poets, playwrights, educators, a lawyer, a labor leader, an artist, a stone mason, a cork cutter, and a diplomat, all united by their shared love for Ireland's rich history, language, and traditions.
