Every idea on offense we have employed in the five years of running the Shuffle is included in this book. No details have been withheld in giving the wide choice of patterns to use. No claim is made that this is the perfect offense, but it can be used successfully by teams at any level of basketball. In our section of the country, high school "B" and varsity teams are using it, along with several colleges. This is definite proof that any player can learn and master the mechanics of playing at different positions as required in the Shuffle. The Shuffle offense is of particular value to teams of average ability and size which must depend on coordinated team effort to be successful. It also aids each player in developing more skills that will make him a good all-around performer. Separate chapters are devoted to free lance play and the fast break because both fit so well with the Shuffle and add greatly to the scoring potential. The saturation point has not been reached, and the possibilities of this offense are virtually unlimited. Few styles of play give such excellent opportunities for the lay-up basket, as well as middle-distance shots over a compressed defense.It is the author's hope that you will find something of interest and value as we have done in working with the Shuffle Offense
