-AWESOME FACTS ABOUT BASEBALL: I have intentionally selected a specific range of facts that I feel will not only help children to learn new information but more importantly, remember it. -FUN LEARNING TOOL FOR ALL AGES: This book is designed to capture the imagination of everyone through the use of "WoW" trivia, cool photos and memory recall quiz. -COOL & COLORFUL PICTURES: Each page contains a quality image relating to the subject in question. This helps the reader to match and recall the content. -SHORT QUIZ GAME - POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT: No matter what the score is, everyone's a WINNER! The purpose of the short quiz at the end is to help check understanding, to cement the information and to provide a positive conclusion, regardless of the outcome. Your search for the best book on "Baseball" is finally over. When you purchase from me today, here are just some of the things you can look forward to..... Amazing and extraordinary facts. This kind of trivia seems to be one of the few things my memory can actually recall. I'm not sure if it's to do with the shock or the "WoW" factor but for some reason my brain seems to store at least some of it for a later date. A fun way of learning. I've always been a great believer in that whatever the subject, if a good teacher can inspire you and hold your attention, then you'll learn! Now I'm not a teacher but the system I've used in previous publications on Kindle seems to work well, particularly with children. A specific selection of those "WoW" facts combined with some pretty awesome pictures, if I say so myself! Words and images combined to stimulate the brain and absorb the reader using an interactive formula. At the end there is a short "True or False" quiz to check memory recall. Don't worry though, it's a bit of fun but at the same time, it helps to check understanding. Remember, "Everyone's a Winner! Enjoy ......... Matt.
Author Biography
Matthew Harper was born in 1965, Surrey, United Kingdom. He is married with two young children and is a great believer in using images combined with interesting facts to help both inspire and educate. His simple philosophy, drawn from his own experiences, is that a teacher who holds the attention of the class without the need of strict discipline or blackmail is indeed a rarity. His books are designed to help young children learn through participation, by checking understanding and offering encouragement. Matthew found that for him personally, this was the only way he could retain information at an early age. Children generally love to be rewarded when they get something right and by using a short quiz at the end of each publication, Matthew ensures that every reader finishes a winner!

The Winning Weekend Warrior aspires to enhance the participation, enjoyment, and success of the reader in all sports. It focuses on strategy, tactics and the "mental game." As it turns out, many of the strategies, tactics and techniques for the psychology of sports are similar regardless of the sport. In fact, many of these same techniques are useful in business and other aspects of life as well. This book is valuable for several reasons. First when it comes to winning, there is much in common among all sports. In terms of the mental game, the commonalities outweigh the differences. In terms of the physical game, there are also great similarities in terms of preparation. Obviously, different sports require specific skills but these are largely improved due to correct practice in the specific sport. You can practice a sport such as golf or tennis for many years and hardly improve at all. Time alone is not enough. You need correct practice and this book can help you make sure you practice correctly. A second reason to read this book is that even if you concentrate on one or two sports, chances are that you will participate occasionally in others. You may be a scratch golfer or a tennis star but occasionally find yourself in a basketball or baseball game. Even if your own days of playing hockey, tackle football and soccer are over, you might volunteer to coach these sports for kids, neighbors, or grandkids. In such cases, this book will help you translate the skills you already have in your main sports into these other domains. As you may have noticed, this is not always easy to do. Perhaps you managed to watch the basketball player, Charles Barkley (career average 22.1 points per game) struggle mightily to become a so-so golfer. You can also apply much of the advice in this book to business and other aspects of life far beyond sports. A third reason to read this book is that thinking about what it takes to win in sports in general, will reveal additional insights helpful in your particular sport or sports. This is because I will ask you to look at sports through a different lens. Rather than look at baseball through a "baseball lens" and tennis through a "tennis lens" I will ask you to look at these sports through a more general lens. The fourth reason is that reading this book provides an excellent foundation for understanding and using the information you may find in sports-specific books including future books in this series. By learning a general framework for thinking about all sports, other advice and tips will make more sense and be easier to remember and apply. Fifth and finally, this is one of the few sports books written by a winning weekend warrior. I love competing in sports, but I have never been a professional athlete. Of course, you are tempted to read a book written by a world expert in a sport. Aren't we all? There are several problems trying to improve your performance based solely on books written by world class athletes. 1) There is probably no way you can keep your day job and keep to the kind of training schedule they have. 2) Most professional athletes are in their 20's and 30's. As you age, even if you keep fit, you may have to play differently compared to a professional athlete. 3) Most professional athletes have so much skill in their sport that they no longer consciously remember what the real issues are for beginners and intermediates. Many of these same limitations apply when we listen to athletes being interviewed by the press after an important victory (or defeat).

PERFECT GIFT FOR LOGIC PUZZLE LOVERS! Enjoy the Japanese logic puzzle invention! Increase your IQ for happiness & success in life! Prevent dementia with daily puzzle solving! Are you looking for a way to blow off steam in a healthy manner? Increase your IQ? If so, then let us tell you about an interesting yet fun way to do so. No worries, it is not as expensive as you think. All that is required for this purpose is a pencil. Confused? Let us tell you more about it. This book has the most exciting compilation of Sudoku puzzles perfect to give you an IQ boost while improving your cognitive skills. Each Sudoku puzzle is designed to exercise your brain and challenge you at different levels. All you have to do now is grab a pencil and focus on the common goal. 'Sudoku' is a game of puzzle originally from Japan. Unlike other puzzles such as picture puzzles or word puzzles, Sudoku is completely different. It is a puzzle with numbers and if you love solving mysteries, you might be the perfect person to solve Sudoku. The most interesting thing about these puzzles is that you do not have to be a math whiz. That's right. You can stop cringing now. This suits both math lovers as well as non-math lovers. How is that possible? It may sound surprising but this game uses only logic and reasoning. In other words, common sense. If you desire a productive way to keep your mind busy while exercising your brain, Sudoku is the right choice. It not only helps you in improving your IQ but also helps you stay alert and awake. This simple path that you take towards your mental wellbeing can create big positive changes in your life in the long run. Another fascinating thing about Sudoku is that there is no set age limit for this game. Hence both young and old with an interest could enjoy solving Sudoku puzzles. The rules of Sudoku are simple. A grid with randomly filled numbers is provided. Your goal is to fill the grid with digits in such a manner that every column, row, and 3*3 box has numbers from 1 to 9 without repeating any. The strategies that you may use could fit one puzzle but not the other. Sometimes the same tactics could be used in solving many different puzzles. It is up to you in discovering the route to complete the puzzle. It is no wonder that this fun-filled game has become an addiction to millions so much so that some have even gone to the extent of collecting records of their solved puzzles to track their progress in books such as these. These puzzles help you come up with strategies you have never thought of, providing you the opportunity to think independently and come up with your own way of solving problems. Your analytical skills get sharpened as you complete Sudoku puzzles with different levels of difficulty as it is said to activate the left part of your brain which is responsible for logic and reasoning. You do not have to complete puzzles at a stretch or at one go. There is no timer to put you under pressure. So you can take your own time, think thoroughly before making a move, and solve the puzzle at your pace. The satisfaction and sheer joy that you get after completing a Sudoku puzzle cannot be described in words, it should be felt. To make things even easier, we are providing you with some picture puzzles too.

America and Canada both saw historic sports milestones in 1993. While the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bulls reigned supreme, the Toronto Blue Jays won a second consecutive World Series on a walk-off homer, and the Montreal Canadiens emerged as the last Canadian team to win a Stanley Cup. While stars like Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Joe Montana overcame physical and emotional challenges to make history, teams were performing unprecedented feats, from the Buffalo Bills' unrivaled comeback on Wild Card Weekend to the Baltimore Orioles' unveiling of their transformative ballpark design during All-Star Week. Drawing on original interviews with dozens of former players and coaches, this book revisits an exceptional sports year for fans across North America, with memorable stories involving some of the most iconic sports figures of the 1990s.

Kindling the Light of Confidence: What Hanukkah teaches us about the kind of confidence that builds champions? A Purim Perspective on Competitive Anger: Why so many athletes lose their cool, just like the villainous Haman did, becoming their own worst enemies? It offers all of us a roadmap to becoming more fulfilled human beings - Lenny Krayzelburg, 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist "Informative, insightful, inspirational... Mitch Smith scores on every level with this tonic for the soul." - Tim Green, former defensive end, Atlanta Falcons, Fox Sports NFL analyst "A MUST-READ!
